On March 22-23 2003, seven scouts and five adults challenged themselves by backpacking in Harriman Park. The crew hiked from Tuxedo Park to the Dutch Doctor shelter, with some sightseeing along the way! The group saw old iron mines, lunched at the Black Ash Swamp, enjoyed scenes from the top of Claudius Smith Den, as well as several scenic vistas along the way!
This was the first real backpacking for any of these scouts an the performed (or endured) admirably. The very best part, is everyone was so worn out, we were all asleep by 8:30 (everyone but Alex G.!).
